FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • I’m in Salem, Oregon, right smack in the middle of the scenic Willamette Valley. Because of this, I'm able to easily travel north to Portland, south to Corvallis and Eugene, east to Bend and Sisters, and west to Lincoln City, Pacific City or Newport.

  • I specialize in portraits. However, I can also be hired for a lot of other photo-based project, such as couples, events, products, and photojournalism. If you’re curious, it would be great to have you reach out via my Contact page.

  • Yes, I am able to bring a lighting and backdrop setup to you. Even if you’re tight on space.

  • When working with people, I will most often encourage my clients to relax, settle in, and be in the moment. The best thing I can hope for is that you forget I’m even there… for the most part. For anyone who feels awkward in front of the camera (I promise, you’re more photogenic than you think), I’ll offer guidance on posing and styling as needed, in an easy-going way. I go out of my way to make my clients feel comfortable, and to enjoy having their photo taken. I’m a classic INFJ personality type, which means I am good at going with the flow, enjoy authentic interactions with people, and am intuitive about the needs of others.

  • I try my best to respond to inquiries within 48 hours. I’ll read through your message, and communicate with you to fill in any gaps. Next I’ll come up with a quote (as needed), and then you’ll receive a request to make a deposit to hold your dates. The deposit will usually be 50% down, and the remaining 50% upon delivery.

  • Yes! I learned photography the ‘old school’ way, shooting with analog cameras on film, and developing and printing it by hand in the darkroom. Now-a-days I still shoot film, but it is becoming more and more expensive, so I use it sparingly, and mostly for my own enjoyment. If you appreciate the character of film, and that’s what you want for your photos, that is an option.

  • Sort of. I have a tiny, dedicated home office/studio in Salem, Oregon with space for taking individual headshots and small product shots.

  • Yes, I’m an experienced traveler, and I love the opportunity to visit other places. Across Oregon, different states, Europe, Asia, wherever, I’m happy to talk about it.

  • I would love to hear from anyone having a small, intimate wedding who is needing a photographer.
