ABOUT ME

THE QUICK VERSION

I am a Salem, Oregon based photographer specializing in portraits. Having spent time behind the camera since 2006, I am able to confidently capture unique, lasting images for my clients, and for numerous types of subject matter, from people to places to products.

THE LONGER VERSION

Photography came into my life in 2006 when I began pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Applied Visuals Arts at Oregon State University. After finishing my foundational coursework in the arts, I spent some time in the drawing and printmaking studios, but focused most of my efforts on traditional darkroom techniques. The magic of making black and white photographs come to life by hand has had a lasting impact - all these years later I still prefer to shoot on film, though most client shoots are done with a digital camera for ease of use and cost-effectiveness. A soft spot for monochrome photos is also still prevalent in my work.

Since around 2010, I’ve had the pleasure of exhibiting and selling my art locally and online. My work has found happy homes across North America, and as far as Europe and Asia. While I have plans to open up e-commerce through this website, you can currently find prints, and ceramics (my first love in the arts that I’ve recently come back to), in-person at the Salem Art Association.

My love of image making has led me through many different avenues aside from my personal art practice. This has included time spent as a photojournalist and photo editor, creating and overseeing all sorts of visual content for publicity as a head of marketing for a non-profit, and doing videography and multimedia for an online classroom. In addition to photography, as a freelancer I occasionally put a more broad skillset to use by consulting on marketing and creative direction for clients.
